Booster set control panels

Booster set control panels with built-in variable speed drives

One to six pumps held at a single pressure set point by pre-programmed inverters in the panel. Swap a drive without replacing the booster set.

10 to 20 working daysBS EN 61439-2BS EN 60204-1EMC Regulations 2016

1 to 6 pumps

Single, twin, triple, quad, five and six pump configurations.

0.75 to 75kW

Wide kW and voltage range. 230V single phase available on smaller sizes.

IP66 enclosure

Mild steel as standard; polyester for outdoors; stainless available.

Off-the-shelf drives

Industrial-standard inverters, quick and cheap to maintain.

A G&G booster control panel holds system pressure at a set point you enter once, either on the inverter or on an optional touchscreen. A 4-20mA transducer reads the pressure, the drives adjust pump speed, and pumps stage on and off to meet demand. Because the drives are in the panel, not on the pumps, they last longer and a failed drive is replaced without touching the set.

Why panel-mounted drives

Pump-mounted inverters live with the heat and vibration of the motor. Mounting them in a wall panel away from the set extends their life, makes them easier to reach, and means a replacement is an off-the-shelf drive rather than a manufacturer-specific unit. It is also cheaper than OEM-mounted inverter systems.

One set point, no syncing

Up to six pumps run from one panel and one set point. You do not configure or synchronise multiple inverters; the panel does the staging.

Replacing failed Hydrovar or similar drives

A common use is replacing a booster set's original pump-mounted drives when they fail out of warranty. We build a panel to suit the existing pumps and pressure transducer, and the set keeps running. There is a full write-up in the knowledge hub.
