G&G Controls, The Panel People

Standards and compliance

What we build to, and what you get with every panel

A control panel is only as good as the evidence that it was built and tested properly. These are the standards our panels are designed and verified against, in plain English.

BS EN 61439-1 and 61439-2

Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies

Every G&G panel is built and verified as a power switchgear and controlgear assembly to BS EN 61439-2. Forms of separation (Form 1 to Form 4) are specified per project; Evometrix is available in Form 1 or Form 2.

BS EN 60204-1

Safety of machinery: electrical equipment of machines

Applies to panels controlling pumps, plant and machinery. It sets the rules we follow for earthing (one protective conductor per terminal), conductor identification, emergency stop circuits, isolation and marking.

BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations)

Requirements for electrical installations

The installation standard the panel connects into. It is why our enclosures for domestic applications are non-combustible, and why we specify surge protection where the risk assessment calls for it.

Electromagnetic Compatibility Regulations 2016 and UK EMC Regulations 2016

Electromagnetic compatibility

Inverter and PLC panels are built with filtering, screened cable practice and earthing arrangements that keep emissions and immunity within the standard. Declarations of conformity cover EMC where applicable.

Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU and UK Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations

Safety of electrical equipment

Our declaration of conformity references the LVD and its UK equivalent. Panels carry CE and UKCA marking.

ATEX / DSEAR

Equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres

Sewage wet wells are commonly Zone 1 or Zone 2. We fit certified intrinsically safe barriers for floats and level heads in the safe area of the panel, or in a separate barrier box for Telemetrix.

Sewers for Adoption and Design and Construction Guidance

Adoptable pumping stations

Adoptable panels are built to the current guidance and to the amendments and deletions published by United Utilities, Anglian Water and Severn Trent.
