An old mill's de-watering station refurbished, with alerts added
A de-watering station under an old mill, reached through a brick culvert, was cleaned out and refurbished from the pumps up. Two new pumps, new floats and a Telemetrix panel mean the next problem is a message rather than a flooded basement.

- Telemetrix
- Also fitted
- Two pumps and new floats
The challenge
Bring a neglected de-watering station back into service, and keep it that way.
What we supplied
A Telemetrix panel running two new pumps and float switches, after a full clean-down of the station.
The result
Back in service and reporting its own faults rather than waiting to be found.
The requirement
Bring a neglected de-watering station back into service and keep it that way: clear out what had built up, replace the pumps and level control, and give the operator warning when something goes wrong, at a site nobody visits often.
The constraints
- An old mill: a confined brick culvert with awkward access for plant and people.
- Years of silt and debris to clear before anything new could go in.
- De-watering, so a failure means water where it should not be, and nobody on site to see it.
What we built
The contractor carried out a full clean-down with their Capcombi unit and installed two new pumps and float switches, with a Telemetrix panel to run them. Pump trip, high level and panel offline alerts go out by email and text over 4G or the site network.
Delivery
Supplied from the Telemetrix range for the refurbishment.
The outcome
A working station with remote monitoring where there was none. In the words of the irrigation technician who did the work: "A satisfying refurbishment on an old mill's de-watering station completed. We carried out a full clean-down using our Capcombi and installed two new pumps, floats, and a Telemetrix alert panel for remote monitoring."
